When my boss asked me if I wanted to go to India, my response was simple, "ummmm yeah!" I didn't even have to think about it, India had been on my list of must see destinations for years, so a work trip combined with a little personal travel? Perfect!
I arrived in Hyderabad to hear the news of the Paris attacks so I had a little bit of anxiety about the trip. But this didn't keep me from hitting the ground running when I got there. I spent the first day driving through Old Hyderabad, a destination that was 45 minutes away from my hotel but took me 3 hours to get there by car, which is just normal traffic in India. And apparently all of the cows and horses in the streets were normal too!
After a long much needed nights sleep, my next stop was the zoo. I so desperately wanted to ride an elephant and get the greatest, most unforgettable pictures, but Hyderabad was just not the city to do it in. So, I did the next best thing! The zoo was very impressive, large open spaces for the animals, it turned out to be a beautiful day.
The Qutb Shahi Tombs, other wise known as the 7 Tombs, were AMAZING! So breathtaking, I told my husband that when I die, he needs to build me one of these!
At Golcanda Fort, I was met with many requests to take photos with people. I am not sure why they wanted to take pictures with me, but I said yes, and of course I took some photos of them as well :) The best part about Golconda Fort was the view of the city, including the 7 Tombs!
The palace. That's all I really need to say. It was grand. It was extravagant. The drinks were delicious. It was the perfect way to spend my last night in India.
Last but not least, a trip to Shilparamam market to get a few more Indian treasurers before going home. This market had beautiful scarves, pearls, and elephants! I spent way too much on each of these products because I am terrible at bargaining but it was well worth it. India was amazing and I hope to go again someday.
